BSCA Breed Club Meeting: November 12th 2006

Bergamasco Club meeting

End of year dinner and celebration for the BSCA meeting: great topics, excellent food and beautiful dogs on the menu.

Reports:

    "Long Term Health Effects Of Spay NeuterIng Dogs" by Laura T. Sanborne. M.S. -- May 14, 2007

    AKC registration countdown. The AKC is actively working at moving the breed from FSS to miscellaneous, allowing participation to AKC competitions. 2 new litters and 4 adults were registered in October 2006.

    New litter Show and tell. Birbo dell Montervigne, import from Switzerland, and Neria Dell Albera, import from Italy, had they first litter in the US. Six weeks puppies are adorable!!

    BSDCA Meeting

    Breed rescue report, and action plan guidelines. Three Bergamasco Sheepdogs (likely to be litter mates) around 2 years old have been rescued by the GPASC Rescue Inc. (Great Pyrenees) in California from a kill shelter. All three have since been adopted. Many thanks to GPASC for their help, fast action and communication with our club.

    BSDCA Meeting

    Type and genetics discussion following guidelines from IBSC. Review of anatomic and temperament consistency. Adult dogs show and tell.

    Breeding planning for 2007. Analysis of best stud, brod bitch within old and new generations.

    End of year show results: Sp. Gr. Ch. Gasparo dell'Albera (Owners & Handlers - Mark & Irene Senedak) finished # 2 dog for Rarities 2007 conformations shows.
